Merry Christmas!!
Well, 2008 is winding down and 2009 is on the horizon. It seems that Christmas sneaks up on us more and more each year; we can hardly believe it is only a few days away.
Much of the major things that have gone on this year are in the updates; therefore, we won't go into great detail.
Ryan and
Brett are now playing indoor soccer and started basketball in early December. Ryan's basketball team was able to play a mini-game at the halftime break of a Mattawan high school JV basketball game. His team only scored 4 points, but Ryan assisted on one basket and scored the other one! Ryan is still in band and enjoys playing his trombone. We were amazed and the recent winter concert how well the 7th grade band was sounding- somehow I don't remember sounding that good when I was in 7th grade band. Brett played in a futsal soccer tournament in December and had a blast. His team didn't do as well as he would have liked, but he had fun anyway. As amazing as it sounds, a Hulbert boy won the Battle of the Books logo contest for the FOURTH year in a row. Ryan won it for two years and Brett won it again this year for his second year in a row.
Patti is still working for Dr. Oppenlander as a dental hygienist and is still a great soccer mom. She loves going to games and watching her boys play. In January, she got a newer toy, a Toyota Highlander (primarily to pull the camper!). With all the snow we've been having lately, she is really loving it right now. This year again, Patti is captaining Brett's Battle of the Books team. Every night she is busy reading books and writing questions to quiz the team on. If the team doesn't do well, it won't be for a lack of preparation by the coach!
I am still working at Perrigo and have recently taken a new position within Quality Assurance. It is presenting new challenges for me as it will be involving auditing companies which I have never done before.
Our ever-loving companion is still with us... Boots. He is still a frisky dog that loves to run and play.
