Red Arrow U12 - Ryan
Ryan started the fall season out with a bang by scoring the winning goal in a 1-0 game in the team's first WMYSA game; in the last 5 minutes! Although that was the only goal Ryan scored this season, he did have some very good opportunities and shots on goal in other games.
Ryan's team ended the season 8-0 and only gave up 2 goals! They were in control of every game in league and were never seriously challenged. They have a lot of talent on the team and it is coming together more and more. Unfortunately, it meant less playing time for Ryan this year compared to last year, but he didn't seem to mind. He is still a 'pass first' player and is one of least selfish players and one of the better passers on the team. The team has decided to move up to the 'elite' level of the U12 age group for league in the spring. This will mean a lot more challenging teams and (Patti is 'excited' about this) more travel to teams in the area (Lansing, Grand Rapids).
Ryan's team played in two tournaments; one in Lansing and one in Fisher Indiana. In the Capital Area classic, the team finished 2-1 and made the U12- Gold championship game. The team they played was phenomenal, and ultimately they lost but overall had a great tournament. In the Fishers Halloween Classic, the team went 1-0-2 and just missed playing in the championship game. In the tournament games, Ryan had some good scoring opportunities but just couldn't get the ball past the keepers.
