Ryan's Soccer Team

This fall Ryan moved up to the U13 age group and is still playing on his Red Arrow Soccer Club team. Moving up to U13 meant Ryan started playing on a full size field with full size goals and the number of players on the field bumped up to 11 (for each team). His team went through a transition as they lost 4 good players to different teams. Therefore, with the expanding roster (they bumped up to 18) and open positions, there ended up being approximately 10 new players on the team.

After playing in the U12 elite division of the West Michigan Youth Soccer Association last spring, the team played in U13 this fall. Even with the new influx of players, the team went undefeated in league play. Ryan managed to score a goal this fall and has been playing midfield most of the year. He primarily is a defensive minded midfielder which bodes well with the coach's desire to play strong defense.

Ryan's team played in two tournaments this fall; the first was in early August before the team began practices where they went 0-3. The tournament was used as a 'get acquainted' opportunity for the coaches and players. They played in the Lansing Area Capital Classic in September where they went 1-1-1 and almost made it to the playoffs. They played some good teams and played competitive soccer games.
