U10 Red Arrow Rampage
The fall West Michigan Youth Soccer Association season has ended and Brett's U10 team had a very successful fall. In league play, the team finished the fall season 7-1. The lone loss was against a 'premier' team comprised of many of the better kids from the area teams. Even though the score was 4-3, Brett's team outplayed them for most of the game, but just couldn't get enough shots in the back of the net. The team lost 3 players from last spring's roster, but we picked up two additional players that helped the team perform at a high level. Brett led the team in scoring and is still the most consistent playmaker on the team.
The team played in three tournaments this fall; in one tournament, the team played in the U11 division for higher competition. This year we focused on getting the team in the highest level of competition at the tournaments and the results were a bit different than last year.
In the U11 tournament, the team finished 0-3 but played 2 very close games and in each game lost by one goal. In September, the team played in the Capital Area Classic in Lansing. We finished 1-1-1 but two of the three games, completely dominated the other team. They lost the third game 1-0 despite outshooting the other team nearly 20-1. In the second game, Brett scored the game tying goal with less than 7 minutes left in the game; very exciting. Our last tournament was the Fisher Halloween Classic in Fisher Indiana. We played in the elite division again going 1-3. Again, 3 of the 4 games were close where we could have pulled out a victory. Brett led the team in scoring in this tournament.
All in all, a very successful fall season for the U10 Red Arrow Rampage and for Brett. He is still an 'all attack' mentality; daddy needs to get him to work on his defense, but constantly improving his game.
