The Lords of the Books triumph!!

Ryan and Brett participated in Mattawan's Battle of the Books in late January with 4 of their friends in 5th and 3rd grades. Patti was their coach and had the team ready for action for the first round.

After a quick start out of the gate in round 1, the team continued to do well in the second and third rounds. At the end of the contest, the Lords of the Books finished in first place and only missed 2 of 27 questions!! After winning their first battle, they moved to the final battle against 5 other teams the following weekend.

In the final battle, the team turned it on in round 2 after a slow start in round 1. At the end of round 2, they had moved from fourth place to first. In round 3 they only missed one of 5 questions to preserve first place and take home the championship!!!!!!

We are very proud of all the boys and they read and studied very hard for the battles. In addition, Ryan's drawing he submitted for the Battle of the Books logo was selected over all the other kid's drawings.
